Your Input Needed—Birth Control Access in Pharmacies!

The NH Pharmacists Association (NHPA) encourages all NH pharmacists to participate in the following survey sponsored by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Women’s Health Practice and Research Network Study of US Pharmacists’ Opinions on Prescribing and Increasing Access to Contraception.

In New Hampshire, HB 1822 -- Making hormonal contraceptives available directly from pharmacists by means of a standing order, has been referred to the House Commerce Committee for a public hearing.  They will focus on the insurance section of the bill.

The information from the survey study aims to assess:

Support for expanding access to various hormonal contraceptives via pharmacist prescribing, behind the counter and over the counter models.

        Personal interest in prescribing.

Safety, cost , and professional practice issues

        Education and training

        Service delivery
